Light Workshop
Low Light, Bright Sparks: Studio Lighting at Sörängen
This set was shot during a small lighting session I held for my classmates back when I was studying at Sörängens Folkhögskola. Technically it was just a practice day, but it turned into a pretty solid portrait workshop in the end — and a much-needed creative break from the environment there.
Truth be told, I had a horrible time dealing with the teachers at that school. Bureaucratic chaos, little support, and a general mismatch in values made it hard to feel like I belonged. But despite that, I’m still incredibly glad I met some of the people I did. A few of us still keep in touch — and I’d absolutely shoot with them again anytime.
These portraits were created with minimal gear and a focus on controlling shadows, smoke, and softness. One of my favorite ways to work: make it feel cinematic without losing the human texture.
