Fall Fashion Meet
Studio Lights & Southern Heat – A DFW Meet at BLACK & LIGHT
Models: Brooklyn, Ivy Baresh, Whitley Queen
Location: BLACK & LIGHT Studio DFW
Hosted by: @streetpeepz & @whitleyqueen
In September I dropped by a photography meet at BLACK & LIGHT Studio DFW, hosted by @streetpeepz and @whitleyqueen. It's a white-walled studio in the Dallas area with a solid variety of backdrops—perfect for fast-paced portrait setups with minimal fuss.
This session was a little different from my usual rig. While I had all my strobes with me (2x AD300 + 1x AD600), I couldn’t bring any stands or modifiers on the flight. Thankfully, Red (fellow photographer and gear savior) loaned me a stand and a shoot-through umbrella. Since they needed the only stand that could hold an AD600, I ended up working with a single AD300 and umbrella for the entire shoot.
One light. One modifier. A lot of creative push.
Final Thoughts
Shooting under gear limits isn’t a setback if you know what you’re aiming for. This session wasn’t about perfection—it was about tension, rhythm, and character. We didn’t need a big rig to make something punchy. Just a good space, strong collaborators, and a lot of quick thinking.
