Powder & Jinx
Arcane Sparks & Strobe Tests – A Personal Cosplay Project in Texas
This shoot was a personal project of mine while I was in Texas — part love letter to Arcane, part lighting experiment. I’d just picked up a new set of strobes and wanted to push them in a stylized, cinematic setup. What better test subjects than Jinx and Powder?
Whitley Queen brought the explosive energy of Jinx to life, complete with custom props and chaotic flair, while Ivory captured the delicate balance of innocence and tension in Powder’s quieter moments. Red makes a brief but potent cameo — look for the red hair and reaching hand.
This wasn’t part of any larger meet or collab. Just a focused session built on shared love for the series and a chance for me to play with bold colors, heavy shadows, and that signature Arcane emotional split-screen. I wanted the photos to feel graphic and expressive, somewhere between fan art and stills from the show.
One of the most rewarding parts of this shoot was experimenting with digital compositing and layered light — not just with lighting rigs, but also in post. I leaned into overlays, chromatic aberration, and saturation shifts to mimic the series’ iconic painterly-meets-punk visual language.
More cosplay portrait sets from Texas are still to come, but this one was pure passion project — and honestly, a total blast.
